To all Assessors …regarding “Water Breaks”…while a “Water Break” in general, is not normally used in the course of a match,
we all recognize the importance in South Texas of “Hydration”…if the rules of the local Association, Youth or Adult, and or both
Coaches agree, there can be an allowance at a time the Referee determines appropriate…one (1) break per half is acceptable.
The Referee should discuss what is expected of the AR’s, to ensure a timely restart of play…I would also suggest the AR’s
keep a bottle of water near, for their personal needs. Players must stay on the field during this "water break" and generally the
clock keeps running. This should be done during a stoppage, and a whistle is required to restart after the break.
