The State Referee Committee approved changes January 13-14 in the assessment procedures to be followed and a new fee schedule. The attached file describes the new procedures and fees. Download here (pdf, 15.9kb).

The most important change is that the assessor will NOT collect fees at the field. The collection of the fees is my responsibility. The assessor will be paid when the expense report has been received by me and processed, regardless of whether or not the fee for the assessment has been paid by the referee.

The assessment fee is based on the level of the assessment. It is next to impossible to keep track of game fees around the state which, for example, range from a low of $24 to a high of $50 for the same level of men’s competition.

For the time being, there is no change in the mileage reimbursement which is the roundtrip mileage @ $0.385 per mile. This will be revisited later in the year.

It is important that you keep track of the assessments you do during the year which, for registration purposes, is from September 1, 2006 to August 31, 2007. You will need to include an activity report with your registration for next year.

The process as outlined will most likely need refinement after it has been in place for a while. I welcome any comments you may have.
