New Assignor Services added online

As an assignor, you can access these services by signing into your personal STSR account.  In your Personal Information box
on the Home Page, you will see Extended Services.

Click in that checkbox to access the Assignor Extended Services screen.   You will then see a screen with the Interactive
Officials Registration Search function.  Here you can lookup the registration of an official by lastname, get a list of all registered
officials and their contact information. You can also download the list, and sort in many different ways in an Excel spreadsheet.
At the top of the page you will see three underlined items:

The add assignor directory entry function is a MUST HAVE for STSR and assignors.  It allows you to enter the associations
that you assign for into the system, along with Age level of Games, location of fields, City and Zip.  If you assign for multiple
associations or they have venues in several different cities, you can add multiple of these records.

You can then view/ edit or delete these records by clicking on “Click Here to view your History” at the top of the
Member Home Page and then look under the “Assignors Section” of your history.

These directory entries are being listed dynamically in a list of STSR Assignors and Associations available to members when they
sign into their accounts (Member Services: Assignor Directory)    We have about 2000 new officials each year either move into
the STSR area or become new officials, and we get many calls on how to contact local assignors for games.  This will provide a
valuable resource for them to find you, and you  get MORE OFFICIALS available to assign.  They can find you by association
name, city, Zip code, or game level, or your name.

This global directory of assignors will NOT work without you putting in your information. Please sign into your account and create
these directory entries as soon as possible.  If you do not want you email and phone number in the list available to STSR members,
do not create a directory entry.

As always, please report any problems to me by telephone or email.  I am nearly always available.

Assignors should be aware that STYSA, effective in September 2009, has permitted teams in the U11 and U12 age brackets to play 8v8. Although these are small sided games, it cannot be automatically assumed that they are Recreational and that a Grade 09 official is allowed to be the referee. STYSA has two playing levels, Division 3 Recreational u11-u19, and Division II Competitive u11-u19. In both, there may be 8v8 games for u11/u12. However, as there is a difference in how the teams are organized, a Grade 09 official may only referee (center) those in Division III Recreational u11-u14.  A Grade 9 official may be an Assistant referee on ANY U14 or younger game. For more information on the playing levels, review the Coaches 2009-2010 Handbook available at the STYSA  website.

Entry Assignors Clinics

Entry Assignors clinics are being scheduled for the 2009 year (includes the 2009 and 2010 ) Registration year. To register as a new assignor, go to the Clinics Page, Select Available Clincs, set clinic type to Assignor Entry Level. Available clinics will be displayed. Click on the Register link next to the clinic you wish to attend.

There is a Entry assignors clinic scheduled in the San Marcos area (serving Austin and San Antonio areas) on May 16th, 2009. Please register for and attend this clinic to become a new assignor, if possible.

Assignor Recertification

Assignors must recertify each calendar year. However, no physical clinic attendance is required. Simply sign-in to your account, and select the Assignors In-Service clinic. This is a free, paper-only clinic, and will allow you to recertify as an assignor. The current Assignors Registration fee is $20.00. If you do not see the Assignors clinic listed, click on Add Registrations, and select the Assignor check box.
