An Associate to ITIP Instructor Upgrade Clinic scheduled in Houston for the weekends of 12/5-12/6 and 12/12-12/13, 2009. This
clinic is being held at the CourtYard Marriot Hotel (phone 713-910-1700. An STSR group rate of $69.00 / night is available for
room reservations. Please sign up for this clinic at www.stsr.org , selecting Add Registrations, Instructor Upgrade (or Same Year
Upgrade if already certified as an instructor for 2010).

Make-Up Instructor In-Service Clinic Scheduled
The make-up instructor in-service clinic has been scheduled for Friday night and Saturday Nov 14th and 15th at the Wingate Inn and Conference Center in Round Rock, TX.. Special STSR rates are provided. If you are an instructor and missed the previous IIS, you MUST register for this clinic to recertify for the 2010 badge year. The Instructor registration fee is paid by STSR, however a $45.00 clinic fee will be charged. Note that the make-up Assessor In-Service clinic is held at the same day and location. If you are also an Assessor, and you missed the previous Assessor In-Service, you must register for this Assessor In-Service clinic as well. However, you will be charged only one clinic fee. Please register for these clinics on-line, for the 2010 badge year. (see Instructor Recertification below)

Instructional Expenses Increased
At the February 2009 SRC meeting, State Director of Instruction, Bob Mohler requested and was granted a $2.00 per hour increase for the Instructional Expense hourly rate, effective for 2010 Badge Year clinics. In addition, 2010 Instructor Registration Fees are paid for by STSR. Instructor hourly rates beginning with 2010 badge year clinics are:
Note: Over 5 hours, then the old billing rates are used for the 6th through 8th hour;
e.g. referee instructor $s per hour goes to $15.00
Expense reports will only be processed for Registered Instructors. The instructor MUST be listed as an instructor online for the clinic being charged. Beginning with the 2010 badge year, instructors who are not registered, and have taught one or more classes without being registered, will not be paid for those classes, even when becoming registered.
Mileage Rate
The mileage rate that can be charged if you have travelled over 50 miles roundtrip / day is $0.50 / mile. (The first 50 miles is to be included in the charge)
2010 Clinic Registrations
Starting with the 2010 Badge Year, there will be no requirement to send paper registration forms to the office for RECERTIFYING officials. However, paper forms must still be given to the participants as receipts, and signed paper registration forms MUST continue to be mailed to the office for all newly registering officials. Note, the old 3 part forms WILL NOT be accepted by the office. Attendees will NOT be registered if they are not listed in the clinic, with a paid status, passing score, and for new officials - signed forms have been received by the office. Please review and use the following documents for conducting clinics:
Entry Instructor clinics are being scheduled for the 2009 year (includes the 2009 and 2010 ) Registration year. To register as a new Instructor, go to the Clinics Page, Select Available Clincs, set clinic type to Instructor Entry Level (Grade 9). Available clinics will be displayed. Click on the Register link next to the clinic you wish to attend.
Instructors must recertify each calendar year. To do so , instructors must register for and attend the annual Instructors In-Service clinic. Simply sign-in to your account, and select the Instructors In-Service clinic. For the 2010 Badge Year, STSR is paying the Instructor Registration Fee. You will only be charged the clinic fee. If you do not see the Instructors In-Service clinic listed, click on Add Registrations, and select the Instructor check box.
Instructors that complete the Instructor In-Service clinic may use these hours and Test score for Referee Recertification (Grades 8,7 and Emeritus) by Registering for the Paper-Only Grade 7/8 Recert clinic for Instructors/Assessors - 06-07-1209-R78, The clinic is free, but you MUST pay your Referee Registration fee online.
All instructors for the following clinics are appointed by the District/Area Director of Instruction and /or the SDI, or designate:
Associate instructors (9) are used within this timeframe for the hours allowed.
Budgeting purposes used $17 per hour …. So the Associates and grade 11 fit well within this timeframe.
The Lead instructor may bill an additional 1 hour for admin purposes – it should be have a budget code
of 5542 and use the higher hourly rate.

SDI may approve billing hours above this on a case by case basis.
The District/Area Director must request the additional expenditure in advance of the expense incurred.
State scheduled courses (all instructors appointed by SDI, or designate):
SDI may approve billing hours above this on a case by case basis, for example if you have a need
to work in more new associate instructors or have a very large clinic, just let the SDI know so there are
no surprises.
