We mourn the loss of our friend and fellow official, Earl Pierce

We in the soccer officiating community have lost a great friend and fellow official. Earl Pierce from Houston passed away on Monday
morning October 26th, while getting ready for work. Earl was one of those people that "never met a stranger". He was a fellow referee,
assessor, instructor and assignor. Any time you would ever see Earl, he would always greet you as if you were a long lost friend. He was
always extremely kind and loved the sport of soccer. We will really miss him here in South Texas.

Earl and his wife Ruth(who passed away about 3 years ago) were very active with  First Baptist Church of Houston. One of the projects
with the church they worked on was traveling to Romania in the summer to help build homes for families (this was after the fall of the
Soviet Union and they pulled support for the country). It was much like what Habitat for Humanity does here in the states. They were both
very proud of this work and the fact they were helping people.

Some folks have been asking if there was any fund that Earl would have liked people to make a donation.
Here is the information on the work they did in Romania

RCE is a non-profit organization. They also help abandoned children in Romania, trying to find families to adopt these children.

Raymond Lalgee appointed as new SAC

It is with regret that I announce that Bill Jorn has tendered his resignation as State Assignor Coordinator with the completion
of his three year term. I have appreciated his hard work, on SAC duties as well as in developing our budgetary processes,
and his dedication to the program and to the well-being of Assignors in Texas South. I'm sure all join me in wishing Bill
the very best.

I'm pleased to announce the appointment of Raymond Lalgee as the new State Assignor Coordinator. Raymond brings a
wealth of experience and knowledge to the SRC, and I'm looking forward to his contributions to the Assigning program.
