A late fee of $25.00 will be added to annual recertification registrations for 2009 that are received after January 31, 2009.

If you are recertifying for the year 2009, you need to recertify before January 31, 2009 to avoid a late fee. This applies to all grades in all categories (referees, assessor, assignors, and instructors). Your registration must be complete. That means that you:

· Have attended a clinic

· Passed the written test

· Paid all fees

· Completed all assessments (if required)

· Completed physical testing (if required)

· Submitted all registration materials to STSR

All Grade 7 referees are expected to send their registrations directly to the SRA for processing.

Grade 7 referees (and higher) must send their competed registration materials to the SRA for approval. Incomplete registration materials will be returned. You are not registered until the SRA receives your materials and approves them. Upon approval by the SRA, you will be mailed a referee badge.

Clinic costs will be determined annually by the SRC, and published prior to the effective date of July 1 each year (the fee for all clinics after July 1, 2008 will be increased $5.00).

The cost for clinics will be $30.00. This reflects the $5.00 increase. Additional fees may be added to a clink fee to recoup any additional costs by STSR. This will be noted in the clinic fee when you sign up for a clinic.

Room and travel costs for trainees attending training/certification clinics/courses are paid only if funds are available. For this budget year (2008), there are no funds available to pay for rooms and travel to clinics/course. Hardship appeals for financial aid may be made directly in writing to the SRA.

In the past, STSR has assisted some referees/instructors/assessors with hotel room cost and travel. Upon review the SRC has decided to evaluate this procedure and determine the feasibility of this practice on a yearly basis. It has been determined that for clinics/course held in this fiscal year (2008), STSR will not pay for travel and hotel rooms for clinics/course. This is effective immediately.

The SRC also recognizes that circumstances may provide undue hardship on referees to attend required clinics. A referee may apply for financial aid to attend a required clinic. The appeal must be made in writing to the SRA and units be received by the SRA 30 days prior to the requested clinic. The SRA contact information can be found at Contacts

Referee assessment fees shall be established by the SRC, and published by the SDA.

Travel costs incurred by an assessor will be the responsibility of the assessed referee, per STSR policy.

Per STSR policy, each referee (and/or referee crew) is responsible for the travel cost of the assessor. When you arrange an assessment, discuss this with either the DDRA or the SDA. The 2008 budget was approved

The approved 2008 budgeted expenses are as follows:

· Assessment expenses $13,300

· Instruction expenses $67,500

· Referee Development expenses $40,000

· SRC expenses $4,625

· SRA expenses $15,300

· Assignor expenses $750

· Operations expenses$33,000

· General and Administrative expenses $13,600
